Data Sculpts Ltd specializes in clinical data management and biostatistics, delivering reliable, high-quality data solutions for clinical trials and public health research in Africa. With over 30 years of combined experience across Phases II–IV studies, our team ensures data integrity through robust quality systems and affordable, fit-for-purpose EDC solutions.

We have worked across diverse therapeutic areas — including Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), HIV, TB and Malaria — with extensive experience in drug trials, diagnostic studies, and vaccine trials. Our work is driven by purpose: to advance research that addresses Africa’s public health needs through excellence, integrity, and impact.

Our Team

Michael Ochieng

Chief Executive Officer

With over 15 years of experience in software development, I bring a strong technical foundation in Java and Python, complemented by deep domain expertise in clinical research and data management. Over the years, I have evolved from a software developer into a seasoned Clinical Data Manager and, more recently, a Data Scientist—bridging technology and clinical research to drive smarter, more efficient research outcomes.

My experience spans managing complex clinical studies across diverse disease areas including tuberculosis (TB), malaria, visceral leishmaniasis (VL), HIV, mycetoma, and Buruli ulcer, supporting drug, diagnostic, and vaccine trials. I am particularly passionate about advancing automation within clinical data management and leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance data quality, accelerate insights, and optimize trial operations.

By combining strong programming expertise with hands-on clinical research experience, I focus on building intelligent, scalable solutions that improve research efficiency and support innovation within the pharmaceutical and global health sectors. My work is driven by a commitment to transforming clinical data into actionable intelligence that ultimately strengthens evidence-based healthcare.

Simon Bolo

Director of Operations and Partnerships

Senior leader with over 25 years of experience driving strategic transformation, operational excellence, and financial sustainability in multicultural, mission-driven organizations across Africa. He brings deep expertise in managing decentralized country programs, multi-donor portfolios, and high-performing teams.

His work spanned supporting the conduct of nine (9) clinical trials in various therapeutic areas across Phase II - IV in resource limited settings. Simon also led access and implementation programs for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) across the region, contributing to translation of research into policy.

He is passionate about creating impact at the nexus of health, equity, and environment combining strategic vision with evidence-based approaches to advance sustainable public health solutions across Africa. Simon is also known for enabling inclusive leadership, championing change, and fostering a culture of collaboration, compliance, and accountability.

Truphosa Omollo

Head of Data Management

Clinical Data and Project Management Specialist with 15+ years of experience leading end-to-end clinical trials delivery, driving quality, compliance and operational excellence across global studies.

Dr. Moses Ngari

Senior Statistician

Dr. Moses Ngari is a biostatistician and epidemiologist with over 15 years of experience in medical research. He has extensive expertise in the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of randomized controlled trials across sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

His work supports evidence-based decision-making and the delivery of high-quality research solutions for global health programs and development partners.
